Leon and Lola

Welcome,

The Mazliach Family homepage is designed to tell the story of Holocaust survivors Lola and Leon Mazliach and their lives. These survivors set a role model for other people to live throughout disaster, use all their being to find a way out of situations, and their will to keep going. This website also serves as a place for the Mazliach family to post news, pictures, and videos to keep the memory alive.

Leon and Lola

Leon Mazliach (1912-2002) and Lola Fuks (1923-2008) were both survivors who experienced many horrors during the Holocaust, but were able to make it out alive. We share their stories here.

Feldafing DP Camp

Lola and Leon were both taken to Feldafing, Germany after they were liberated, the first all-Jewish camp opened by the US Army and hosted a large community of survivors. Feldafing was located 20 miles southwest of Munich in the American zone of occupation.

Salonika

Salonika, also known as Thessaloniki, is the second-largest city in Greece and is located in the North-West of the country along the Aegean Sea. Salonika was once home to one of the largest Sephardic Jewish communities.
